About us
Yeoman is a learning experience which blurs the line between historical interpretation and theatre in education in schools, museums and heritage spaces. We portray the life of the territorial cavalryman (and his mount) by way of performance, displays, discussions and presentations. We aim to be engaging, informative, accurate and highly memorable. We travel to you; your students or community group can be visited by a number of our personnel from the 1914-1918 period and have the chance to interact, to ask questions and to get hands on with the kit and the equipment of the period. As well as our education programme (see drop down box for details), we have a number of sessions that we can offer and we are always open to tailor-make something for you if there is a specific requirement.
We can appear with or without our horses as required. We are fully insured for public liability.
We also appear at re-enactment events countrywide. At these events we turn out as a section of 'A' squadron, 1st Essex Yeomanry. We travel also with a Field Ambulance of the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry.
